For close to 20 years, I have worked in the electronics and consumer goods manufacturing industries mostly as an industrial designer. What is Industrial Design?

My responsibilities were revolving around;

  • Help define the problem with marketing departments & owners

  • Brainstorm, create, sketch, illustrate

  • Build prototypes

  • Test the ideas, refine the design(s)

  • Create 3D files and renderings

  • Find suppliers, work with mechanical engineers

  • Create product specs and marketing supporting documents

I also did kitchen design, in-house product, and graphic design for manufacturers and freelanced until in 2005 I co-founded a design firm.
