Inspiration these days is coming from very diverse sources. My mind is a little spread out, I admit. Going through all the hassle of preparing our big move is a good way to find out if I have the nerve, the focus, and the organizational skills. Among other skills, mind you.
All throughout this, I've been given new industrial design assignments. Two of them relate to nature. Pretty, pretty cool I tell you! As I just read this on a friend Facebook's page:
There is no better designer than nature-- Alexander McQueen
I'm thinking: "I'm going to work for the best designer!" How awesome is that?!

Of all the ideas I have and am working on, there is a line of products I designed several months ago that should be released soon. My love for photography and fabric is the foundation of my business, but I love wood as well and my dad is pretty good at woodworking. We've been collaborating on this line of products since a while...
My dad is an entrepreneur and is still involved part time in his business. Lately he's been putting more hours than he'd planned. This week-end though, he sent me a picture with his cell phone (bravo dad!) and told me he'll be shipping them to me very soon ! I am pretty...

When it's time to create a new collection, I have to sit down and take time to find my style, colors, and textures. So far, my photography has been generally neutral. But this new collection will convey an image of vibrancy and joy, just like the collection’s target audience: kids!
Not so long ago, a good friend suggested that I make more items for kids. I jotted down two ideas she gave me—clothing bags for schools/daycare centers, lunch bags, and pencil cases. Today, I've started to test a few pictures, trying to become familiar with the props I have at hand. I've concluded my day by realizing...

This week will be a short one. I had to finish urgent things yesterday and be ready for tomorrow, when I'll be having some surgery (minor). Technically, Thursday and Friday will be reserved for recovery. I'll try putting my Friday wallpaper online, but there won't be a “Behind the Scenes” on Wednesday. However, my week's inspiration doesn't revolve around sickness or hospitals—do not worry :) I have something more fun to share with you-> Birthday party printables and decorations!
My youngest is turning 2-years-old this Thursday. And if you're like me, you love to get your hands involved...

Oh happy days! I hope you had a great week-end. Yesterday was beautiful out here. A Spring day where it seems every living soul has to be outside! Magic was in the air and smiles were on everyone's face. Feeling the sun and wind warmth breeze automatically makes me happy. Love it!
This week's menu; althrough client's assignements, I should pursue my kitchen collection expansion (I'm also working on a new apron's design) and if possible, because it is March Break and I'll take Friday off with the kids, I'd love to start working on another photo shoot.
So on this Gypsy Jazz background notes,...

The day passed by really much faster than anticipated...! At 8am I filled a 9x12 page with drawings, ideas and actions to implement. I've probably done 1/9 of it.

OK. I admit I got carried away by my readings and artistic researches. Not to mention I think my sewing machine was in its PMS. Broke two needles.
And there are those days, just like today, where everything I do takes more time (I must be in my PMS as well. ha.)
But! I did fix my oven mitts design. That is a good thing. On top of it, it is approved by the man of the house. Even better!
Last week I promised myself I was going...

Despite the fact that I'm coming back from a weekend of skiing in Quebec City (I couldn't have picked a better week-end, 6 inches of snow fell on our head!), I am inspired by Spring that is coming soon! The light is changing, snow is melting, we're getting rid of our winter clothes, some flowers start to show a bit of themselves. But for me one the most lovely sign of Spring is to hear the birds sing.
While I was comfortably seated in the chair lifts in Le Massif and Mont St-Anne, I heard several birds sing and I instantly fell so happy and relaxed.
Though this week I have...

It's a holiday here in Ontario today-- Family Day! So today's inspiration revolves around children and games.
While I was on my second maternity leave, there was someone who really inspired me to craft toys and games: Joel Henriques from Made by Joel. I really admire him as he's an incredibly talented artist and designer.
This is one of the project we did last year, the Zip Line Toy, that A enjoyed very much. We tweaked Joel's original idea as A was all about pirates. Though it seems pretty simple, this game of "flying" pirates to their castle kept him busy for a week! Talk about a good...

Today we are out of town, a last minute improvised family trip to the West Coast.
My only blogging tool is my iPhone ;) Still, I took a few shots this morning I thought sharing as the colors are just so inspiring!
